19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in that event in the past months.
His defensive approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 early opportunities in a close final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
